It’s Flashback Friday here at The REALLY Real Deal!
We are continuing to review the sermons God blesses me to share with you all in 2022. Let’s look at the Sunday Message for March 13, 2022, called, “Does God Weigh Our Actions?”
“The Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him, actions are weighed.” -1 Samuel 2:3.
Notice how the verse says that our actions are weighed. Most Christians know this already, but do we think about what this means? Does God truly weigh all actions made by men?
The answer is yes- every thought, every word, and every deed. These are all actions that God weighs according to his righteous law.
Whether that be personal actions toward yourself, family, friends, spouse, children, adversaries, business associates, etc.
Group actions of our Churches, Political Institutions, Media, Business Institutions, Educational Institutions, and Social Institutions- God’s law includes them too.
God’s law applies to the actions of our public servants and leaders. This includes Preachers, Politicians, Scientists, Doctors, Teachers, Professors, Military, and National Security Directors.
No one will escape the scrutiny of God.
God also gives us the ability to judge another person’s fruit in their life. Are they living according to the 10 Commandments, and the fruits of the spirit? Or are they living to please the flesh?
How Does He Weigh Actions?
Jeremiah 17:9-10 says this: “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.”
“A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” -Galatians 6:8-9.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” -Galatians 5:22-23
“The whole law is fulfilled in one word: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” -Galatians 5:14
“Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.” -Romans 13:8
Jesus’s final commandment to the disciples in Matthew 28:18-20: “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Takeaway for Today
Today, I want you to remember that the fulfillment of the law rests on the way you love God’s creation as Christ did. He gave himself up for her. Jesus, who knew no sin took on the unbearable weight of our sin. He became our righteousness! His blood cleanses us now and breaks the chains of our bondage. Through Him, we are sanctified. We are made new!
“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” -1 Corinthians 10:13
Rest in that peace today, and ask God to show you the many opportunities God has given you to show the His love to those in your life.
God Bless ya’ll!
