Flashback Friday: No Greater Love Part One: Memorial Day Observance with Rev. Craig at The REALLY Real Deal (May 29, 2022).
From the victories to the losses, to the necessary and the unnecessary, one thing remains certain: we will always honor our fallen soldiers.
For some, to serve in the military is part of the calling on their lives, and a reflection of John 15:13– “Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”
However, there is one question I have for you: Since Covid-19 invaded the U.S.A, there has been an ongoing debate about if we should consider that we are now in a war with China. Should we also honor the doctors and nurses who died from the virus as having willingly put their lives at risk – just like a regular soldier?
Now, taking this a step further, should we also treat the millions who died, with hundreds of thousands of those in our own country, as civilian casualties of war?
How does “No greater love…” apply to those who were killed by a foreign virus that they never signed up for?
Think on this as you go about your day.
God Bless ya’ll!
