Lent Topic: Who has Begun to Worship the Power of Satanic Forces?

This is the second part of my sermon series for this Season of Lent. So, grab your Bibles and pull up Matthew 4:9 as we continue to examine Satan’s endeavor to “tempt” our Lord at the end of his 40-day fast in the wilderness.
Many people today, at all levels of society, fall prey to such temptations the Devil has to offer. They worship the power of Satanic and Demonic forces in exchange for the three things offered to Jesus.
After all, these three things are available to all of us.
Satan offered to satisfy Jesus’s Physical Desires, to place Him in a Powerful Position as a spiritual leader, and finally, Satan promised Him Power & Status in various “kingdoms” of government and business.
We should learn to recognize those who feed into the desires of the flesh and to be wary of allowing them to con us into trusting them.
We should also practice self-reflection in this area of our lives. And If the person we recognize is ourselves, it’s time to repent and seek accountability.
Lent is the countdown to Resurrection Day. You have a choice to be either of the two thieves that were crucified alongside Jesus.
You have the choice to live as the guilty thief who does not accept the free gift of salvation, or you can be the thief on the right who had faith and believed that Jesus is who He says He is.
Which one are you?
Will you seek grace and mercy from our Lord, Jesus Christ, as you walk in obedience to Him?
