A History of First Landing

In 1607, three ships from England landed in VA Beach on April 26th. This is commonly remembered as the First Landing. The weary travelers fasted for three days while praying over the land that was to be their new home.

On April 29, 1607, Rev. Robert Hunt said a prayer at First Landing in VA Beach. The congregation built a cross that stood 16 feet tall to symbolize the dedication of themselves and the land to God. With this dedication, they vowed to become evangelists to the world.

Welcome to The REALLY Real Deal and our Sunday Message for March 19, 2023.

In case you missed it, watch my sermon from last Sunday called “Purim & The Age-Old Agenda Against God’s People.“

Now, let’s focus on today’s sermon.

This message is called “God is Just. Therefore He Hates Wrong.”

In today’s message, we focus on two things.

First, the faithful St. Patrick, whose life we celebrate every year on March 17. Few people know the history of his freedom from slavery and his ministry later in his life.

And the current news on Trump’s potential arrest, which he predicts, will occur this Tuesday. 

Part 1: Former slave does not ask for reparations but redeems the land of his former captors – The Real St Patrick.

There is a vast difference in how society approaches the discussion and correction of injustices amongst different races and ethnicities. 

Specifically slavery.

Europeans and Africans were horrifically enslaved throughout history, as were almost every other tribe, nation, and people—even some today.

This is not true of every slave. However, the most common scenario was for nearby tribes or nations to bring most people into slavery. 

Often, the money earned from the slave would go towards paying off a debt. Some may have been war criminals or children born into it.

This was true of the Irish, the Slavs, the Polish, the Brits, and others in Europe. It was also true of various tribes in Africa and so many more.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we will learn how a British man was brought into slavery for six years. How he escaped to freedom, and after two decades, he chose to return to Ireland and plant 300 churches. He baptized 120,000 people for the Lord.

Part 2: A Form of Modern-Day Slavery

The arrest of President Trump is imminent—but no arrests have been initiated for Biden’s Family of Criminals.

Look at the treatment of President Trump versus the Biden family.

Times like this just prove that even within the same races, there will always be a divide.

That’s why the content of one’s character matters so much more than the color of one’s skin.

We need to end this version of slavery in today’s America. After all, we are the land of the free.

In closing, I will share a verse on justice and dishonest gain.

“For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and wrong; I will faithfully give them their recompense, and will make an everlasting covenant with them.” – Isaiah 61:8

A Lookback at MLK Day 

Hello folks, welcome to The REALLY Real Deal. I’m your Friendly Neighborhood Hatchet Man. As you all know, we celebrated Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. this past week. So I want to share with you all the speaking opportunities that I am blessed to have participated in because of MLK Day. In this post, I highlight the major points I talked about in these videos. It is always a pleasure to join the Madison County Republican Women’s monthly meeting. I am also very appreciative of my good friend, John Reid, for inviting me to speak on his radio show, “Richmond’s Morning News with John Reid” on WRVA.

I spoke for just a few moments at this meeting, and felt so honored to be there.

Most of you know that MLK Day passed as a national holiday by Former President Ronald Reagan. I often ask myself what Dr. King would think of our current racial situation in America. After all, if it wasn’t for his assassination, he would be 94 years old.

Think about what it might look like in today’s world. There would be no holiday to celebrate the impact that his life’s work left on our society. He we would not consider a martyr for Civil Rights. Imagine if we simply knew of him as just Rev. King.

This portion of history is not very distant from where we are now. It’s easy to forget that Dr. King was only 39 years old when he was gruesomely assassinated. 

I often think of what Dr. King’s thoughts on the racial battle in America today might be. Would he support the BLM movement, including the general lawlessness and disregard for others that came with it?

What about the riots? Would he consider it just that 38 Americans were killed during these chaotic, and dangerous, escapades?

What about the recurring police murders that happen nationwide every year?

Or abortion, and the fact that over 63 million precious, delicate, and valuable lives have been taken so mercilessly since the Roe vs. Wade decision in 1973? The highest percentage of these murders were black babies.

Would he support the efforts of the government to take away every parent’s right to school choice for their children? What about the teaching of CRT? Or, the demonic movement to turn our children into genders that God did not intend for them to be?

Would he begin seeking revenge for his enslaved ancestors and change his mantra to “We want Special Rights” as opposed to what he proclaimed throughout his life “We want equal rights, not special rights.”

No, he would not. See, Dr. King was a man of great character. Even though he had his flaws, he continued to work towards doing what was right in the eyes of God. Sure, he had sin in his life. Who doesn’t? Jesus said, even to those seeking to stone the prostitute, “He who is without sin, cast the first stone.” The only one who was able to justly cast a stone was Jesus. Instead of doing that, He was quick to show her mercy when he told her, “You are forgiven. Now go and sin no more.”

I accuse all of the soft pulpit preachers of casting those “stones.” Please do not make the mistake of sitting yourself at the level of God. He will surely humble you.

Interview with John Reid

In my interview on Richmond’s Morning News with John Reid, I quoted Booker T. Washington.

“There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they can make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”

I think of all the attempted segregation. Do not forget that our own President, Joe Biden, once said that he “did not want my children growing up in a racial jungle.” Segregation was, at last, coming to a close, and society finally saw African Americans as people again. 

How could our nation, which claims to judge people “by the content of their character” vote for a president that was openly racist during his time as a Senator?

People often say, “Maybe the man has changed?” 

I won’t argue that people can change. 

However, while people are always subject to change, we know that God’s word clearly states that we will know by the “fruit” of his actions, and his life.

Based on what I observe, the Democrat party has been conditioned and taught to hate. 

We know that hate is not reasonable.

This hate has successfully taken the credit for Civil Rights Bills that Republicans put forth.

Hate also allows for false narratives to be spread by the media, while they play the victim and act like they are not the ones who are truly at fault.

Hate will always have room to fight against good legislation.

MLK Passed On His Legacy- What Will We Do With It?

So why do the Democrats fight against helpful and constructive legislation? Well, we went over several reasons that explain why, but let’s focus on three. Number one: they have an agenda to push. They are working overtime to divide us. You know what they say, divide and conquer, right? Reason number two: they want to keep us stuck. They want us to always fight over racial matters because if we are fighting, we won’t be constructive. Finally, number three: They want to spread hate, and hate is not reasonable.

This matters to every single American, no matter what the color of your skin is. It matters because we need to be smart. It is so important to always remember that our rights come from God. Not from man.

So will we live up to the example that Dr. King laid before us so that we can move on to bigger, and brighter futures ahead?

Do Your Votes Align with Jesus?

Welcome to Wayback Wednesday with The REALLY Real Deal. I want to take a look back at some of America’s more recent history: the Senate vote on the now Supreme Court Judge, Ketanji Brown Jackson. I posted my opinion on this matter on Sunday, March 27, 2022. It is called, “Do Your Votes Align with Jesus?”

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, neither Black nor White, neither male nor female: for all are of one blood through Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28 (Paraphrased).

Even though Galatians 3:28 actually says: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for all are of one blood through Christ Jesus.” I think you get the point I am trying to make. 

The author of this verse was very clearly stating the gospel is not based on the color of your skin, nor is it based on your race or gender. It is instead, saying that we, as believers, and through Christ’s sacrifice, are washed in the blood of the lamb.

Because of this, we are made into new beings. As the bible puts it, we are now “born again”. Jesus now acts as our intercessor. We are now viewed, by God, as white, like snow; without spot or blemish. 

Upon thinking of this particular vote, and how it played out, I was reminded of the vote that occurred approximately 1,995 years ago. A vote that changed history forever. It is the vote that was held in Jerusalem, to determine who, of the two, would be crucified: Jesus, or Barabbas? 

Law & Custom

Pontius Pilate was the “Roman prefect (governor) of Judaea (26–36 CE) under the emperor Tiberius who presided at the trial of Jesus and gave the order for his crucifixion.” –Britannica

Barabbas was considered to be a “notorious prisoner.” According to Luke 23:19, he was “in prison with the rebels who had committed murder during the insurrection” against the Roman government.

Due to the culture at this time, the release of a prisoner was a customary pardon that routinely occured on the feast of Passover. 

Amidst this Roman custom, the crowd was egged on by the religious leadership to prefer Barabbas, over Jesus. 

Both Jesus, and Barabbas, were accused of some the same crimes: sedition, insurrection, and treason. The crowds preference of Barabbas did not come as a shock to Jesus. He foretold that He would be hated by the world because He was God incarnate. After all, He came to conquer sin and death. I imagine that so many felt threatened by the conviction He brought to them.

Most of us would like to think we would have voted for Jesus if we were alive back then. 

But, would we really? 

How we vote in elections today, tells us how we most likely would have voted back then.

Many claim to follow Christ with their lips. But can you obey God and actively support divisions of race, of sex, genders that, in reality, do not exist?

Do not deceive yourself. Jesus would not have stood for any of those things. He would have “turned the tables” on ALL sin. He would have gone against the politics that actively promote such things.

Will you do the same?

Content Of Character: Embraced By The Righteous, Hated By The Woke.

Welcome to The REALLY Real Deal and our Sunday Message for January 15, 2023. This sermon is titled, “MLK Day: Content of Character.”

Great character was demonstrated by Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his followers in the 1960s.

They showed courage by spreading an unpopular belief, boldness to spread the truth, perseverance through opposition, peace in the midst of chaos, forgiveness instead of wrath, and unity among people. 

Even when they were fought by 1960s era demon-crats, they did not stand down.

Today, we see history repeat itself in both good, and bad, ways.

That same great character is being demonstrated again in the 2020s by Christian Patriots who honor Rev. King by their life examples. 

However, with these honorable efforts being put forth comes opposition from the same party that opposed them before, just a different, more modern, era: the demon-crats.

Are there ways to combat this? How would Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. have handled this? I talk a little bit about that in my video. I hope you will tune-in to this message. It is as important today as it was in the 1960’s era.

I Have a Dream: The Legacy of Rev. King

Welcome to MLK Day with The REALLY Real Deal. Let’s Let’s take a look back at my Sunday Message for January 16, 2022.

Many will sing the praises of the late great Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as we celebrate his life and legacy today.

However, we in the Christian, Conservative movement have long embraced his teachings and his example. Christians and Conservatives often worked unified with him as he worked to make racial equality the norm, many decades ago.

If the other people who laud Dr. King only with their lips, were to encounter him as an unknown 93 year old man, who espoused the same colorblind philosophy as he did as a young man; they would call him “the black face of white supremacy.”

How do I know this? The answer is simple: they do it everyday to brave Black Americans who only want to put forth excellence without regard to having brown skin.

One other reaction they might have would be to say that he never fought for equality. They often say that he fought to further segregation in schools, universities, and local businesses such as restaurants and grocery stores. 

In fact, in the wake of the BLM movement in 2020, some modern day demon-crats began to falsely paint MLK as the face of their movement. They called for drastic measures, such as segregation, saying that Rev. King fought for this.

They said that African-Americans should have more access to free healthcare, jobs, and certain buildings at universities called “Cultural Centers”.

Is this what Rev. King had dreamt about? 

No. His dream was for peace, equality, reconciliation, forgiveness, unity, love, and all the things everyone should want from society. His dream extended to every race. His love for people was based on who they are, not the color of their skin.

How can we do better at honoring his legacy of Christ-like love for a broken world?

The answer is to love one another, to take up our crosses daily, and follow Jesus. 

Only then, will the dream of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. can come to life.

Will You Be A Lover Of Truth In 2023?

Welcome to The REALLY Real Deal. Today, we are going back to my New Year’s message on Sunday, January 2, 2022. I call it, “Will You Be A Lover Of Truth?”

In this message, I am recapping some of the major disruptions and deceptions that were propagated in 2020-Present day.

Think about all the ways these deceptions still continue to plague our society, and your life, on a day to day basis. The media continues to cover up the corruption in our government. At times, it seems as if they are succeeding. People continue speaking out against the evil being committed, only to be met with constant opposition from those in power.

A perfect example of this is the Covid Vaccine propaganda. It is disturbing to think of all the people that have lost their lives due to the vaccine. 

But they don’t care about that. They continue to push it anyway, and they silence the truth about the harm it does to those on the receiving end of the needle.

As we have seen in the past two years, God is continuing to send us into a strong delusion. In fact, the bible says in 2 Thessalonians Ch 2: “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” 

Keep an ear out in the video for when I talk about what the “cause” is, and who is being referred to when it says “they”.

My Question To You

My biggest question to you is this: in times of strong delusion and great confusion, will you be a lover of truth? 

How can you, as the bible puts it, pray without ceasing?

Do you intentionally seek God out to invite Him into your day?

Will you continue to love others according to the command of Christ, so that your light might shine brightly among men?

Most of all, will you love the Lord, your God, with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength?

I challenge you to think about ways you can do these things in the days ahead. How can you stick to this for the rest of your life?

The analysis Of 2022 As A Year Of Lawlessness Continues

Welcome to The REALLY Real Deal and our Sunday Message for January 8, 2023 titled: The Year of Lawlessness: 2022, Part Two.

I know I have referred to the last two years as generally lawless, so let’s break that down. 

We have still not seen any justice for the J-6ers, we have had more stolen elections, and the truth about vaccine caused deaths is finally beginning to emerge. There has been more deadly gun violence, not to mention the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. When looking at our government, it is evident that there is a major imbalance in national leadership, and even people who are considered to be “Wise Men” are confounded (Isaiah Ch 29). All of these are important, but the biggest issue is that our American leaders continue to defy God (2 Chronicles Ch 7).

Jesus’s Tough Words On Palm Sunday

Welcome to Flashback Friday with The REALLY Real Deal. On April 10th, 2022, I posted my message for Palm Sunday, titled: “Jesus’ Tough Words On Palm Sunday.”

After Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He made his way to Jerusalem. He restored the sight of two blind men as He left Jericho. He foretold His betrayal, scourging, death, and resurrection to the 12 disciples.

As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the people worshiped Him by preparing the way for the Lord. As he rode in on the donkey, they laid palm leaves on the road. They began shouting praises to Him! Saying, “Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest!” 

After this, He went to the temple where he turned over the tables of merchants and money changers. In doing so, He drove them all out. 

He rebuked the Scribes, Chief Priests, Pharisees, and Elders by calling them “blind,” “fools,” and “hypocrites” (Matthew 23:13-36).

All of the parables He tells are very tough lessons to learn, and often times, they can be confusing. He goes from telling of a tree that He curses, to prophesying the destruction of the temple. He gives us parables about the deceit of false prophets, and fake comings of Christ, to the slaying of enemies.

They don’t stop there, either. As a matter of fact, there are so many more.

You Might Be Asking, “Where Can I Find These Tough Words?”

If you are wondering where you can find these different accounts in the Bible, I encourage you to look them up! You can find details of Jesus’ time on earth in Matthew, chapters 20-26; Mark, chapters 11-13; and Luke, chapters 18-20.

It is also important to note that when compared to the first three Gospels, John’s account of what happened is different than the first three. Read John, chapters 12-16 to see what I mean.

Reality is, all four of these accounts should be thoroughly studied. But for some reason, the full story is rarely told, and people just don’t understand it.

It is vital for us, as Sons and Daughters of God, to understand the full Gospel. It cannot truly pierce the depths of your heart and mind if you do not understand exactly what Christ saved us from. You cannot truly be transformed if you do not grasp the amount of mercy God has for us.

God sacrificed so much, that we might one day be fully restored to our Father’s House in Heaven.

Will you accept this challenge to study His words in its proper context for yourself?

2022 Year Review

Welcome to The REALLY Real Deal and our Sunday Message for January 1, 2023. I call it the “2022 Year Review”.

It is now the New Year, which means that a lot of people are considering the things they would like to accomplish in the next 363 days. Statistics show that 85% of people drop their New Year’s Resolutions by the 2nd week of February.

My New Year’s Resolution is to find newness in the Lord. It is my hope that I will not be so quick to drop this daily habit. What is your hope for the New Year?

Righteous Authority

In this message, I discuss what the Lord says concerning many of the public issues we face today. We talk about a variety of issues, such as: SCOTUS rulings, murders, stolen elections, open borders, etc.

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” –Proverbs 29:2

How true is this verse, today? 

I hope you’ll tune-in to hear this important message.

In closing my New Year’s Review, my prayer for you all is that our Lord bless you and yours to find newness in Him during the new year.
