Happy President’s Day from The REALLY Real Deal!
Yesterday, I spoke about choosing leaders wisely. Check out the Sunday Message on February 19, 2023, titled, “President’s Day: Evil in the Sight of the Lord.”
In this message, we also discuss a great President, John Quincy Adams, who died 175 years ago, as well as several evil Presidents.
As our Bible tells us, Israel had both good and evil Kings. America has experienced the same.
Therefore, it matters who we choose to place in leadership positions. We must remember that Israel could not vote for a King like we do today. They did ask God for a King, and He, in turn, warned them to be careful what they asked for.
Of course, they had great Kings such as David, Solomon, Josiah, and Hezekiah (He did right in the sight of the LORD. 2 Chr 29: 2-6).
But they had their fair share of wicked leaders as well. Think of the evil Herod, Belshazar, Nebuchadnezzar, Manasseh, Ahaziah, Joran, and his father Ahab (who did more evil in the sight of the Lord than all who were before him).
Consider the evils put on our children by the politicians in office throughout history, and even today.
There will always be some level of corruption when placing a human being on a pedestal. 1 Kings 15:26 says: “…and in his sin he made Israel to sin.” However, God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. Because of this, righteous people will actively work to snuff out corruption, even within themselves because God is always at work in them.
As always, the Bible is my guide, and I don’t care who gets offended by it.
So have a blessed President’s Day, and God Bless ya’ll!
