Hello Folks! Welcome to Wayback Wednesday with the REALLY Real Deal. Today, I am looking back on my Sunday message for July 24, 2022.
Our focus today is on the following scripture:
I saw in the place of judgement, wickedness; and in the place of righteousness, iniquity.
After a very prominent Christian leader asked us to pray for Pres. Joe Biden, It caused me to ask myself a question: is praying for the wicked a biblical action? In this case, since Pres. Biden continues on the path of wickedness and deceit, does God command us to pray for the betterment of his health?
This particular leader often cites Romans Ch. 13, and many other verses that hold similar value. However, these verses are only the “half gospel.”
In fact, 3 times in Jeremiah chapters 7, 11, and 14, he says: “the Lord told me do not pray for these people” and again in Ecclesiastes Ch. 3: “there is a proper time to everything under the sun.”
After examining these verses, I discovered that they push back on the ideas of this famous legacy preacher, and many others like him.
In my sermon, I speak about the pushback these verses provide on this particular topic, and I reveal the name of this popular Christian leader that I stand in disagreement with.
Ponder on what our Lord, Jesus says in John Ch. 17:
“I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me…”
God Bless y’all.
