Recitation of our nation’s Pledge of Allegiance has always been an American tradition: to recite the guiding principles for which our nation was founded. Today, congressional sessions open with the Pledge of Allegiance, and it is also recited at public events. The Pledge of Allegiance has traditionally been important to Americans although it is progressively disappearing from our schools. Recently, Judge Carlos Bea upheld the constitutionality of The Pledge of Allegiance. However, the neo-liberals continue to bemoan its infringement upon their First Amendment rights.
