The Return:
National and Global Day of Prayer & Repentance On the National Mall
A few weeks ago, as a broadcast journalist, I had the honor of covering The Return. The Return is a movement, a season, and it was a day of prayer and repentance that occurred in America and around the globe, in state capitals, churches and homes.
The event was organized by Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, and Kevin Jessip (President of Global Strategic Alliance).
It was a solemn assembly of National Repentance, a sacred gathering on the National Mall, worship, prayer, intercession, and individual and world repentance; with speakers, music, testimonies, prophecy, and declaration.
The event began with the Ten Days of Prayer and Repentance, beginning with the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Shashanah) and concluded with the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur.
Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. (Mal 3:7)
America’s Spiritual Window of Opportunity
America was founded upon prayer and was dedicated to God, but has departed from life and godliness. America as we know it is currently on life support, and if the nation does not turn back to God now it may never have the opportunity again. History, reveals that the last time America was called to a solemn assembly was by President Abraham Lincoln for a national day of prayer and fasting, on April 30, 1863.
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2 Peter 1:3-4)
Its Not About Politics, It’s About Righteousness
The Return was an anointed, spiritual, event that focused on the nation’s repentance and its return to God and His ways. This phenomenal event ws attended by thousands and was open to all people who were interested in seeking the Lord, His will, His forgiveness, and His blessing.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
